The lovely Icelandic lady known as Björk has officially released the app album for Biophilia. And it's just as weird, psychadelic and amazing as you imagined it would be.

First you have to download the "mothership" app which is free. Then you can buy the songs for $1.99 each, or cop all 10 for just $9.99! The way the music melds with the images and animations will blow your mind. Even the first image is freaky, as the app opens with a large skeletal spine supporting a shadowy moon, with all of its phases strung along a spinal cord.

Icelandic icon Björk is embracing new technology with the release of her seventh album Biophilia. While it will still be available in old school formats, it will also be released as a package of 10 iPad apps, bundled within one "mother" app.

Each app will correspond to a different track on the album and play off of the songs' themes, titles, or lyrics.

In February, we brought you news of Smuggle Truck, a controversial app that appears to poke fun at the perils illegal immigrants face when attempting to cross the U.S. – Mexico border. Apple has since rejected the controversial app, but all is not lost for the game’s developer.  

“We were denied,” Owlchemy Labs said of its submission to Apple. “We therefore decided to create Snuggle Truck. Snuggle Truck will feature a group of cuddly creatures escaping the wilderness for the comfort of a zoo, where they're provided plenty of food, shelter, and state-of-the-art healthcare,” Owlchemy explained.
