Sony Shows off PlayStation Vita at Tokyo Games Show

Sony demoed the PlayStation Vita at the Tokyo Games Show yesterday, giving gamers a new look at the highly-anticipated handheld console.

Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, showed off the slick device which features a five-inch multi-touch screen, front and rear facing cameras, and a pad built for “touch, grab, trace, push and pull” finger motions. The console is also able to play videos and music and connect to social networking sites.

Sony Unveils New Portable Gaming Device, PlayStation Vita, at E3

Nintendo wasn’t the only company to unveil a new gaming device at E3. On Monday, gamers got their first look at Sony’s PlayStation Vita (PS Vita), a new portable gaming device set to hit stores in time for the holidays. 

The PlayStation Vita, codenamed the NGP, will include 5-inch multi-touch screen, a rear touch pad, and two analog sticks, in addition to the normal PlayStation controls. Gamers can also use the device to connect with other players via Wi-Fi hotspots and cellphone networks, as well as through the use of GPS location-tracking technology.
