Gamers Attempting World Record on Nintendo Wii

Could you play a video game for 24 hours straight? Four members of the popular gaming magazine Game Informer will attempt to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Nintendo Wii for more than 26 hours and 27 minutes to break the Guinness World Record for "Longest Video Game Marathon Playing a Fighting Game".

The challenge begins March 19th at 9am at their office in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The previous record was set almost one year ago on March 21st, by four Penn State University students playing Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 64.

Dan Ryckert, Tim Turi, Ben Reeves and Jeff Cork are the hardcore gamers who hope to go down in Guinness gaming history.

Will they all be chugging Red Bulls to stay awake? Perhaps, although the rules state that only one participant must be actively involved in game play for the duration of the attempt. Weak. Game on!
