Many women forget to perform self exams for breast cancer, but the Canadian charity Rethink Breast Cancer hopes to change that with a new smart phone app featuring hunky men.
The app, Your Man Reminder, allows women to choose one of six “dream men” to deliver reminders about self exams. Once a woman has selected a hunk, the virtual fellow will pop on her smart phone, urging the user to show her breasts some TLC (which stands for touch, look, check). The app’s dream men can also deliver inspirational messages like “any guy would be lucky to have you.”
“Young women are busy and often need a reminder to show their breasts some TLC,” MJ DeCoteau, Executive Director, Rethink Breast Cancer said in a statement. “Being aware of what your breasts regularly look and feel like is the key to early detection and what better way to remind you to check yourself than a friendly nudge from a hot guy?”
The app will also include information about the signs and symptoms women should look for during self exams, as well as a social networking feature that will allow women to notify friends when they’ve taken their breasts into their own hands and the hunk who inspired them to do it.
Your Man Reminder, which is iPhone and Android compatible, will be available on iTunes in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
